Noni Madueke and Jaden Philogene-Bidace score hat-tricks as Young Lions run riot
England's Under-21s produced a stunning display to crush Serbia 9-1 in their Euro 2025 qualifying match at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on Tuesday night.
Chelsea forward Noni Madueke and Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene-Bidace both scored hat-tricks, while Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, Arsenal defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy and substitute Carney Chukwuemeka also got on the scoresheet.
It was a dominant performance from Lee Carsley's side, who took the lead through Madueke in the 12th minute and never looked back.
Philogene-Bidace doubled the lead just six minutes later, and Madueke made it 3-0 with a fine finish in the 25th minute.
Norton-Cuffy extended the lead further five minutes before half-time, and McAtee made it 5-0 on the stroke of half-time.
Madueke completed his hat-trick in the 55th minute, and Philogene-Bidace made it 7-0 with a close-range finish in the 65th minute.
Chukwuemeka added a ninth goal for England in the 85th minute, before Serbia grabbed a late consolation through Nikola Jović.
The win moves England top of Group G, with two wins from two games.
