The Golden Retriever was a cross between existing breeds, including the Bloodhound, the Irish Setter, and the Newfoundland.

Characteristics

The Golden Retriever has a distinctive golden or cream-colored coat, which ranges from short to medium in length. Their thick, water-repellent coat provides insulation in both cold and warm weather. Golden Retrievers are typically medium-sized dogs, with males weighing between 55-75 pounds and females weighing between 50-65 pounds.
